It is extremely important that you keep track of your permit expiry dates. This applies to foreign nationals studying or working in Canada. You may extend your Study Permit, Work Permit or Visitor Record by applying to IRCC before the expiry of your current document. It is recommended that you apply within 30 days of the expiration date of your status.
We can assist you in the below services:
- Study Permit Extensions
- Work Permit Extensions
- Bridging Open Work Permit (BWOP)
- Visitor Record Extension
- Restoration of Status
When applications are made before expiration of status, depending upon your permit, you could continue to work under implied status.
If the work permit is expired and renewal application has not been submitted, you must stop working. Restoration of status and a Work Permit must be submitted within 90 days.
If the worker has applied for Canadian Permanent Residency and is waiting on IRCC decision, then the worker may be eligible for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP). The BOWP allows the worker to continue working for any employer without the requirement for either an LMIA or an Offer of Employment.
